The Passing of a Dear Friend and Supporter of Leadership Detroit

Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues and Clients

He was the love of my life for 30 years. He was my travel buddy, my confidante, my business partner and my best friend. I thought we would grow old together, but God had other plans, which I do not question. So now we will grow together in a different way, one that it is more spiritual in nature, but nonetheless powerful. My heart, though, is absolutely broken.

It is with a broken heart that I share the news of Larry Mack’s homegoing. He made his transition on Tuesday November 4th and has now assumed his rightful place among the Ancestors. A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday 11/21/14 at 7:00 PM. It will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon, NY.

Many of you have asked how you can help. As you know, Larry was passionate about scuba diving and was an excellent scuba instructor. He was particularly fond of his work with disabled veterans through the Wounded Warriors Project. He was also part of a military family. I know he would be honored to have people donate whatever they wish to the work of this organization. Here is the direct link:

Alternatively, a group of my former students and one of our clients have joined together to create an online memorial fund. You may also donate there:

If you need to be in touch I can be reached via this email at You can also contact me via voice or text at (914) 441-6823, or by voice at (914) 969-1993. Due to volume, it may take a little bit of time to get back to you, but I promise that someone will return your call, text or email.
To borrow from Oprah Winfrey, what I know for sure is that Larry is absolutely fine! He has made certain that I know that, and I am passing that word on to all of you who loved him so dearly.

Be well.
