The World Mobility Leadership Forum and MICHauto’s Role

In September of 2015, MICHauto hosted its annual MICHauto Summit. The event was designed to begin to position Michigan as the leader in next-generation mobility and to shape the conversation about the talent and culture required for innovation. The theme of the Summit was, “The Connected Culture: Shaping Michigan’s Automotive and Mobility Future.”

Since then MICHauto has continued to take a leadership role in the planning and execution of the Michigan Mobility Initiative. We have been focused on four key areas to position the state: projects, people, policy and positioning. Included in our positioning strategy has been a collaborative focus on holding key events and conferences. One product of this work will be held on Sept. 28-29 in Detroit, the World Mobility Leadership Forum.

Along with our Michigan Mobility Initiative partner, Business Leaders for Michigan, MICHauto has taken a leadership role in the planning and execution for this event. Over 200 industry and thought leaders will gather in Detroit, the global automotive and mobility epicenter, to discuss how modern mobility solutions can solve challenges around the globe. As part of our involvement and commitment to the Forum, MICHauto will be foregoing its annual Summit this year. The Summit will return in 2017.

The change in this year’s event calendar is accompanied by a change in date for MICHauto’s Annual Meeting. We will be holding the MICHauto Annual Meeting on Dec. 8 instead of our historical date preceding the start of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Because the NAIAS and Consumer Electronics Show are so closely scheduled together this coming January, it was decided to hold the MICHauto meeting in December.

The format of this half-day event includes an Investor Briefing open to all current MICHauto investors, award ceremony, networking reception, and a special keynote presentation. The Annual Meeting will analyze the current industry landscape in Michigan and address what the future holds as the automotive industry and mobility industry intersect.

MICHauto continues to grow its investor base, sphere of influence and its strength as the voice of positive change to promote, retain and grow Michigan’s automotive and mobility industries. We look forward to updating our investors on Dec. 8 and appreciate the ongoing support and commitment to our cause and work.
