Walsh earns 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation from HLC

TROY, Mich., Feb. 10, 2021 — Walsh announced today that it earned a full 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) with no requirement for interim monitoring or reporting and has been approved to offer Doctor of Business Administration and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Accreditation is the formal recognition of the quality of an educational institution, granted by HLC based on a systemic evaluation of the institution as a whole, including academic mission, ethics, teaching and learning, resources and compliance with the United States Department of Education’s requirements for federal financial aid eligibility. Walsh’s next reaffirmation of accreditation will take place in 2030-2031.

“To achieve a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation demonstrates Walsh’s commitment to our mission to provide a transformative business education combining theory, application and professional experience to prepare our graduates for successful careers,” said Michael Levens, Ph.D., president and CEO of Walsh. “Reaffirmation is an arduous process and I am impressed by the collaboration of Walsh faculty and staff to achieve this milestone.”

In 2020, Walsh also achieved a full 10-year reaffirmation of the accreditation of its business programs by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners.
