International Women’s Day Lunch

The Chamber’s International Women’s Day Lunch on Friday, March 6, focusing on the theme Each for Equal, gathered a panel of leading executives to speak to business leaders on how they can engage in inclusive practices to foster diversity of thought and encourage all employees to have a voice.

Three distinguished woman leaders shared their “Each for Equal” story in a short TEDx style keynote. Christy McDonald, anchor at Detroit Public Television, then led a group discussion inspiring attendees to model “Each for Equal” behavior.

An equal world is an enabled world, and collectively each of us can help to create it.

For a second year, this event supported a partner organization that is improving the lives of women around the world. Attendees were encouraged to contribute to keynote speaker Najah Bazzy’s organization, Zaman International, as this year’s beneficiary. Our collective generosity will extend Zaman International’s impact of breaking the poverty cycle for women and children by providing basic needs assistance, vocational training, and literacy education.
