The conversation will touch on the personal side of wellness, with space to explore the factors that contribute to stress and burnout, and how leaders can build resilience in their work and lives. We will also explore best practices to enhance health and wellness within your organizations and among your teams.

This session features influential voices who share compelling insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping education in the Detroit Region, as well debunk myths around post-secondary education and highlight the economic impact of higher education and investments in workforce talent. The session also highlights the role of mentorship and affinity groups in fostering deeper connections and driving impact within organizations and communities.

From understanding the rapid progression and influence of Detroit’s news outlets to uncovering how AI can streamline processes, this session will offer insight into the incredibly complex worlds of Media and AI in regard to the Detroit Region and their expansive significance. Participants will also gain strategies to leverage these tools effectively within their organizations.

The session invites thought leaders and industry experts to explore the future of transportation and cutting-edge technologies shaping the Detroit Region. From advancements in mobility solutions to innovative strategies driving economic growth in the region, this session will highlight how collaboration and forward-thinking leadership are paving the way for smarter, more connected communities.

This session explores the powerful partnership between small businesses and local government, highlighting how collaboration across sectors is driving economic vitality, neighborhood revitalization, and inclusive growth throughout the Detroit Region.

The Race and Diversity sessions invite participants into meaningful, and sometimes challenging, conversations centered on race, equity, and inclusion in the Detroit Region. Through shared dialogue and reflection, the cohort will journey together to better understand one another’s lived experiences and the Region’s history and present-day realities. These sessions emphasize learning, openness, and collective growth, creating space for deeper connection and a more inclusive path forward.

This session celebrates the creative heartbeat of the Detroit Region and the powerful role arts and culture has and continues to play in shaping community identity, driving economic impact, and attracting global attention. Through conversations with arts advocates, foundation leaders, and statewide partners, the cohort will gain insight into the broader cultural ecosystem from a local and state-wide perspective, as well as the impact of arts and culture on Michigan’s economy and communities.

This optional session will be spent onversing with state representatives and leaders in Lansing, touring the Capitol, and learning more about the history the building holds.

This session will invite participants to reflect on the relationships, experiences, and lessons developed throughout the year while exploring what authentic leadership looks like in practice. Through conversations centered on storytelling, vulnerability, collaboration, and leadership through challenges, participants will engage in discussions and exercises designed to connect the themes explored across each session and consider how those lessons can continue to shape their personal and professional leadership journeys moving forward.

The session will also provide space for reflection, connection, and celebration as the cohort looks ahead to life as Leadership Detroit alumni and the lasting impact they hope to create throughout the Detroit Region.
