Ridgway White

President, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation

Ridgway White is president of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. He previously served as the Foundation’s vice president for special projects and chair of its management working group. As part of his program work for the Foundation, White also served as a loaned executive for the Uptown Reinvestment Corp., a nonprofit organization focused on revitalizing Flint. Among the projects he spearheaded was the $35 million conversion of the Hyatt Regency Hotel into a 550-bed living/learning center that is also home to the University of Michigan-Flint School of Management and the Riverfront Banquet Center.

He also played a key role in bringing the city’s new Health and Wellness district to fruition. That project includes an expanded presence in Flint for Michigan State University’s medical school and public health program; the redevelopment of the Flint Farmers’ Market; and the Genesys PACE Center, which will provide all-inclusive care for seniors with chronic health conditions. White is a graduate of Hobart College, where he studied architecture, economics and urban planning.
