Devin Scillian headshotIt can be difficult to pin Devin Scillian down on his occupation. Journalist, best-selling author, songwriter, musician — they all fit.

As a journalist, Scillian brings national and international reporting experience to his position as anchor of WDIV-TV in Detroit. He joined the station in August, 1995 as a reporter and moved into the anchor position in 1996. He’s been honored for his work both at home and abroad. His assignments have taken him from Sydney, Australia to St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican, from the Red Sea to Moscow, from Jerusalem to Siberia. He has twice won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Documentary. His Sunday morning news program “Flashpoint” is required viewing for those in the know in Detroit.

Scillian is also the author of 15 children’s books. His book “A is for America” became a national best-seller. His book, “Memoirs of a Goldfish,” won the Wanda Gag Award for the nation’s best “read aloud” book.

Scillian is also an accomplished musician and songwriter. He’s won the prestigious Detroit Music Award for Best Country Performer. He has released three albums of his original songs.
