Instructions to Download the App
1. Download from the app store
Using Apple or Google, search “2013 Mackinac Policy Conference” using the search function. The app thumbnail will look like this image. To verify you are looking at the correct app, make sure the seller (listed under the “Information” section) is Bluewater Technologies Group, Inc.
Once you have found the app, click “Install” next to the title of the app. You will be prompted to sign in with your Apple or Google account. From there, the app will automatically begin to download.
Once you have downloaded the app, you will be able to find it on your phone screen by searching for the thumbnail. The abbreviated title that you will see is Mackinac. Click on the icon to enter to app.
The app will first ask to send you Push Notifications. Select “Allow” in order to receive messages throughout the Conference regarding exclusive events and offers that you would otherwise not see. You can change this setting at anytime in your phone’s Settings.
The app will then prompt you to log in using a username and password.
You should have received an email prior to the Conference with a username and password. Insert those credentials into the login form.
If you cannot find the email or do not remember the email you used to register, the Chamber provides app support leading up to the Conference and on Mackinac Island:
Before the Conference: Send an email to nmattar@detroitchamber.com with your name and company requesting your Conference email address.
During the Conference (on the island): Visit the Conference App Help Desk to look up your email. See the Conference Agenda for times and locations.
3. Using the App
The app has two home menus which can be toggled by sliding the screen to the right or left (depending on which menu you are viewing). For an in-depth FAQ of the app, click on “Info Booth” located in the second row on the first home menu.
You can choose whether or not to allow messages from other app users by clicking on the small gear button, located in the lower right corner of the home menu. This will take you to the Preferences page, which allows you to choose whether or not you receive messages. The default selection is “Off” which makes you invisible to other attendees. Selecting “On” will allow others to see you can receive messages on the Attendee List.
