The Michigan State University Research Foundation announced it will be adding a new program to its Conquer Accelerator.

The program, called Conquer Finance and Insurance Accelerator, is a collaboration between the MSU Research Foundation, Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, and the Eli Broad College of Business Insurance and Risk Management Program.

In addition to training financial and technology startups, the goal of the program is to make East Lansing and the state of Michigan a hub for talented entrepreneurs.

The program will consist of a 10-week hybrid course where they can participate in modules and hear from speakers regarding the different aspects and challenges that come with running a startup.

Applications for the program will be open beginning in December until Jan. 31, 2024. According to Tom Stewart, the director of venture programming at Spartan Innovations, the application consists of 16 questions about the applicant’s startup. Then seven to 10 candidates will be interviewed before a cohort of five is determined.
