The Detroit Regional Chamber runs one of the most respected advocacy programs in Michigan, working for its members at all levels of government.

The Chamber serves as the voice of business on key issues including building the talent pipeline, maintaining a world-class business climate, next-generation mobility, and the Detroit region’s continued economic revitalization.

The Voice of Business in Government

The advocacy team continues to achieve results that power the economy throughout the region and state working directly with lawmakers and elected officials as legislation and policy is developed. It convenes key conversations around changes needed to drive economic development and support the Chamber’s signature industries from automotive to smart manufacturing to defense.

On the national level, the Chamber engages Michigan’s congressional delegation and works in collaboration with the Great Lakes Metro Chambers Coalition to elevate issues that impact economic growth throughout the Midwest and beyond. Through the MICHauto program, the Chamber also brings a unified voice to statewide and national policy conversations for Michigan’s entire automotive industry.

Releasing its legislative priorities every year, the Chamber’s government relations team sets an aggressive agenda with each new legislative session while frequently testifying on key issues important to its members. The Chamber actively engages its membership and keeps the Southeast Michigan business community informed and engaged on emerging issues impacting the economy at the federal, state, and local levels of government.
