Ann Thompson

Manager, Workforce Development, Ford Motor Company

Ann Thompson is a workforce development manager with Ford Motor Company, currently supporting BlueOval projects in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Michigan and EV transitions in Ohio and Canada. Her team is focused on creating clear pathways for all individuals, from education to employment, with an emphasis on reaching underrepresented populations.

Thompson has a passion for people and is particularly interested in increasing awareness of and accessibility to manufacturing careers. She works directly with schools, universities, state programs, and labor experts to identify best practices, build regional partnerships, and support students’ manufacturing readiness via short-term workforce training programs, certifications, and stackable credentials. She also oversees state grants and assists with community relations.

Prior to joining Ford Motor Company, Thompson served two terms as the director of workforce development for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University of Ohio and a Master in Business Administration from Western Carolina University. She currently serves as chair for the EV Jobs Academy in Michigan, was appointed to the KentuckianaWorks board in Kentucky, and is an active member of Women of Ford.
