Anna Paulson

Executive Vice President and Director of Research, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

Anna Paulson is the Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, leading its research and policy analysis work and conducting research specifically on banking and financial markets, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and regional economics. She also oversees the Bank’s Public Affairs, Community Development, and Policy Studies departments.

Paulson has been with the organization since 2001 after serving as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Paulson is an expert on financial markets and institutions, particularly in the insurance industry. She attends meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee.

Paulson is a past Board Member of the Western Economic Association International and a current Board Member of the American Economic Association’s Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession.

Paulson earned a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
