Beth Osborne

President, Transportation for America Consulting and former Acting Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy, U.S. Department of Transportation

Beth Osborne is president of Transportation for America Consulting. She previously served as acting assistant secretary for Transportation Policy and deputy assistant secretary for Transportation Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). There, Osborne managed the TIGER Discretionary Grant program and Secretary Ray LaHood’s livability initiative; directed the development of the Obama administration’s surface transportation authorization and the implementation of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21); and served as the lead on freight, safety, energy and environment policy.

Before joining USDOT, Osborne worked for Sen. Tom Carper, D-Delaware, as the legislative assistant for transportation, trade and labor policy; legislative director for environmental policy at the Southern Governors’ Association; and as a legislative assistant for Rep. Ron Klink, D-Pennsylvania.
