Brittany Lavis

Group Chief Executive Officer, Detroit Medical center

Brittany Lavis is the Group Chief Executive Officer for the Detroit Medical Center, providing strategic leadership to ensure the health system remains responsive to the needs of the diverse communities it serves, especially in a time of continued uncertainty for the healthcare industry.

Before this role, Lavis served as the DMC’s Group Chief Financial Officer for the DMC. In addition to traditional finance responsibilities, she has also been responsible for the DMC’s Graduate Medical Education program, University Lab, and Health Access Center.

Lavis is a member of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees and the Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors.

Lavis has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 150 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know and 100 Academic Medical Center CFOs to Know. Lavis was also selected as a Modern Healthcare 2018 Up & Comers for her outstanding leadership and sustained contribution to the healthcare industry.

Lavis earned a master’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University.
