Archer’s civic and philanthropic involvement includes being past chairman of the Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors and a current member of the Chamber’s executive committee. He chaired the 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference and 2019, 2020, and 2021 Detroit Policy Conferences. In 2020, Archer was appointed co-chair of the Chamber’s Racial Justice and Economic Equality Steering Committee. In addition, he is a founder and the chairman of the Paradise Valley Foundation and sits on the boards of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, Dennis W. Archer Foundation, CitizenDetroit, and the Wayne County Sheriff Youth and Senior Education Fund Board. Archer also serves on the General Motors Inclusion Advisory Board (appointed by Mary Barra) and, in 2020, was appointed to the Wayne County Airport Authority by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Archer received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. He also has an NMSDC Advanced Management Education Program certification from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
