Dusty May is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Michigan, recognized for his innovative approach to roster construction and strategic leadership in college basketball. May led the Wolverines to a 73-3 record and an NCAA Division 1 National Championship in his first season, earning USBWA National Coach of the Year honors.
Prior to joining Michigan, May served as Head Coach at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for six seasons, where he compiled a program record of 126 wins and elevated the Owls into a competitive presence in Conference USA. During his tenure, he guided the team to its first regular-season and tournament championships and led FAU to the NCAA Final Four. His achievements at FAU earned recognition as CBS Sports National Coach of the Year and Conference USA Coach of the Year.
With nearly two decades of experience in collegiate basketball coaching, May has held assistant coaching positions at Louisiana Tech University, the University of Florida, Indiana University, and Eastern Michigan University. His background in player development and program building has contributed to his ability to establish winning cultures and maximize talent at every level of competition.
