Erik Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Saab Inc., which is headquartered in Syracuse, New York, and has 10 facilities in the U.S. Saab Inc. delivers advanced systems in aeronautics, weapons, command and control, sensors, and underwater systems to the United States armed forces, the Federal Aviation Administration, and commercial partners.
Smith has over 25 years of Aerospace and Defense industry experience across a broad cross-section of the marketplace. He has developed and executed major U.S. and international businesses with a wide range of industry and government partners serving the defense, intelligence, civil aviation, and commercial healthcare technologies markets.
Prior to joining Saab Inc., Smith held key Program and Contract Management positions at Raytheon Company. He is an Eagle Scout and serves on several boards, including CenterState CEO, Clear Path for Veterans, and the Roger Williams University Board of Trustees.
Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Political Science and Eastern Philosophy from Roger Williams University, a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University’s Walter J. Whitman School of Management, and completed the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Stanford Executive Program.
