Gary Torgow

Chairman, Board of Directors, Huntington National Bank

Gary Torgow is the Chairman of Huntington Bank, the 16th-largest bank in the U.S., with over $200 billion in assets.

Torgow is Chairman of Business Leaders for Michigan and also serves on the boards of public companies DTE Energy and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, one of the state’s largest medical insurers.

He is the founder of the Sterling Group, a Detroit real estate and development company, and is the author of “Raising the Bar” and “Holy Warrior.” He has led numerous critical efforts to support communities across the state, including fundraising for the City of Detroit’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund.

Torgow serves as President of the Jewish Federation of Detroit and is a trustee of The Skillman Foundation and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. He was the Chairman of the 2024 NAACP Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner and was the recipient of the NAACP’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Urban League’s Distinguished Warrior Award.

Torgow is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Law, where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award, and has received honorary Doctorates from Alma College and Eastern Michigan University.
