Gordon Krater is a partner at Plante Moran in Detroit. In this role, he supports the firm’s growth, working with contacts in the community, identifying future merger opportunities, and expanding Plante Moran’s international capabilities.
He previously served as managing partner and helped establish the company’s downtown office in 2013. Over the years, Krater served in numerous leadership positions at Plante Moran, including group managing partner, office managing partner, practice unit manager of governmental practice and overall managing partner. As managing partner, he was entrusted with guiding the client service, growth, talent development, risk management, and strategic direction of the firm and its staff.
Krater also served as vice chair of Praxity AISBL, which is an alliance that helps serve Plante Moran clients’ international needs. An expert in succession planning, Krater co-authored the book, “Succession Transition: A Roadmap for Seamless Transitions in Leadership.” He also teaches a program around the country on leading positive changes as businesses grapple with an unprecedented level and pace of transformation.
