Jermaine R. Ruffin

Jermaine R. Ruffin is currently the Senior Vice President of Neighborhoods at Invest Detroit, a Detroit-based Community Development Financial Institution.

Ruffin has been a practitioner and strategic thought leader in community and economic development.

In Michigan, Ruffin has worked for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and the City of Detroit and now leads the design and implementation of the Strategic Neighborhood Fund Public-Private Partnership. Ruffin was an inaugural Lecturer in the newly created Urban Technology major at the University of Michigan and hosts the critically acclaimed The Streets are Planning Podcast.

Ruffin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State University’s James Madison College and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan’s Taubman College.
