Jonathan Nipper is Managing Director and Partner for the Detroit Office of Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Nipper is a core member of BCG’s industrial goods practice area and automotive sector. He has significant experience in the automotive space across the value chain with both OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and particular depth in quality, connected cars, electric vehicles, mobility, AV transformation, strategy, and due diligence.
Some of Nipper’s most notable accomplishments in his professional career include driving an overall cost transformation with a $400 million savings target for a Tier 1 supplier. He also led strategic diligence and subsequent PMI efforts for a multi-billion-dollar acquisition of a tier 1 automotive supplier. Nipper developed a connected-car strategy for a global automotive OEM across a range of areas, including international expansion of services, monetization strategy, business development for partnerships and alliances, pricing, and packaging models.
Nipper’s continued leadership was on display as he conducted a summer strategy internship at Rivian Automotive, a start-up car company, and engineering internships with Underwriters Laboratories, Siemens AG in Berlin, and USG.
Nipper earned his Master of Business Administration with honors from the Wharton School and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.
