King Bethel

Student and Youth Voice, Jalen Rose Leadership Academy

King Bethel is a Student, Youth Voice, and 2024 Class President at Jalen Rose Leadership Academy.

King is a National Honor Society member and Founders for the class of 2024. In 2020, King entered a speech writing contest, Project Soapbox, and created a masterpiece about redlining, where he was one of 12 finalists.

King is involved in the Kicks for Kids Foundation, where he helps to give away shoes to his community. He is a youth mentor at Downtown Boxing Gym and writes poetry with the InsideOut Literary Arts program.

In addition, King is a recent first-place recipient of the Detroit Pistons Black Excellence Scholarship. He is a current member of the Skillman Foundation’s President’s Youth Council. Through this continued leadership, he has been able to represent his community throughout the state of Michigan.
