Mark Wallace

President and CEO, Detroit RiverFront Conservancy

Mark Wallace serves as president and CEO of the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy. The Conservancy’s ultimate vision is to revitalize and transform 5.5 miles along Detroit’s international waterfront.

Significant progress has been made with the Detroit riverfront revitalization efforts since Wallace joined the Conservancy, including a half-mile addition to the Dequindre Cut; the unveiling of the Campbell Terrace, which serves as a popular location for public performances along the Dequindre Cut; and the unveiling of a comprehensive plan for the East Riverfront District that will spur economic development, increase access to the riverfront and ensure that more than eight acres of riverfront land remains park space.

Prior to joining the Conservancy, Wallace served as a director with Hines Interests LP. From 2007 to 2011, Wallace oversaw leasing the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit. Additional past Hines projects on which Wallace has worked include the Super Bowl XL Media Center and the Detroit RiverWalk Phase II (Rivard Plaza to Gabriel Richard Park).

In 2014, Wallace launched Wallace Detroit Guitars, which manufactures guitars using reclaimed wood from abandoned buildings in Detroit.
