Marnita Harris

Vice President, Racial Justice and Economic Equity, Detroit Regional Chamber

Marnita Harris is the Vice President of Racial Justice and Economic Equity (RJEE) for the Detroit Regional Chamber, leading internal RJEE efforts, like the Chamber’s internal task force and Board of Directors committee and manages external partnerships including the Gallup Center on Black Voices. She will continue to play a key role in investor recruitment and engagement with members in the RJEE space.

Since joining the Chamber in 1993, Harris has held several roles, most recently being the Senior Director of Stakeholder Engagement. She has also worked on the Chamber’s workforce and education efforts, provided oversight for administrative staff, and program logistics for Leadership Detroit and the Mackinac Policy Conference.

Harris is certified in project management and advanced leadership. She has won several leadership and diversity awards, including being a Diversity Champion from the Birmingham Bloomfield Diversity Taskforce; a 2023 Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence; and a Crain’s Notable Leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She is a graduate of the New Detroit Multicultural Leadership program, Leadership Detroit Class XXXVI, and DEAL Fellowship.

Harris serves on the United Way of Southeast Michigan Women United Board and chairs the Women United Engagement Committee.
