Peter Meijer

Former U.S. Representative; Co-Founder and Head of Strategy, The New Industrial Corporation

Peter Meijer is a co-founder and Head of Strategy at The New Industrial Corporation, an investment company specializing in project development at the intersection of venture and infrastructure capital. 

Previously, he represented Michigan’s Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving on the Homeland Security, Foreign Affairs, and Science, Space, and Technology committees. His major legislative accomplishments include the DHS Trade and Economic Security Council Act of 2021 and the National Supply Chain Database Act of 2021. 

Meijer previously served in the U.S. Army Reserves and deployed to Iraq in 2010 to conduct intelligence operations. After Iraq, he led disaster-response efforts in South Sudan and the Philippines before working with an international NGO in Afghanistan to provide conflict analysis to humanitarian groups and deliver emergency assistance after kidnappings and targeted killings. 

Prior to running for Congress, Meijer worked in alternative investment management in New York and urban redevelopment in Detroit and served as Chairman of the Board of Student Veterans of America.  

Meijer earned a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.
