Rachel Decker is the Founder and President of Detroit Philanthropy. Having spent more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector as a fundraising and foundation executive, she is passionate about helping others, making meaningful connections, solving problems, and, most importantly, creating impact in the community as a philanthropic advisor, fundraising consultant, and public speaker.

Since starting the firm, she has consulted with various nonprofits across metro Detroit in areas ranging from capital campaigns to development audits, corporate sponsorships, and annual fund campaigns. She has also worked with companies, individual philanthropists, and family foundations to help them achieve their charitable goals by developing meaningful strategies designed to make charitable giving more intentional and well-informed.

In 2020, Decker founded “Community Connections: Detroit Philanthropy’s Educational and Networking Series,” which has had over 2,500 attendees since its inception. As the series host and moderator, she leads a variety of thoughtful conversations focused on educating the nonprofit sector and connecting them with those who make funding decisions.

Decker has spoken on panels, provided professional training, been featured in several publications, and interviewed on a variety of podcasts.
