Rhonda Walker has been helping Detroiters get motivated and ready for the day for the past 20 years. Walker is an award-winning journalist that starts her day at 2 a.m. to co-anchor the weekday morning newscast at WDIV-Local 4 News, a position she’s held since 2003. Walker is committed to serving the Detroit community and makes nearly 75 appearances each year with motivational speaking in support of charitable efforts.
She is also the founder and president of the Rhonda Walker Foundation, now in its 17th year. The foundation’s award-winning five-year Girls into Women education, career, personal development mentoring, and college prep programming has resulted in 100% high school graduation and college enrollment rates among participating teen girls in Detroit.
Walker is an active member of the Renaissance Chapter of the Links Inc. and a board trustee at Harper University Hospital, Hutzel Women’s Hospital, and Detroit Receiving Hospital. Walker holds a degree in communications from Michigan State University.
