Serving as Governor of Michigan from 2011-2018, he led a depressed bottom-10 state to top-10 status, becoming a leader in job creation and increases in per capita income. The turnaround of Detroit, providing health care to over 600,000 citizens, eliminating a huge budget deficit, and reducing government debt by over $20 billion were other key achievements.
From 1997-2010, he led two of the largest venture capital funds in Michigan history, which focused on early-stage investments and university technology transfer. Snyder served as Chief Operating Officer and later Chairman of Gateway, a PC company, which he helped grow from a $600 million entity to a NYSE $6 billion corporation.
