Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Right to Start

Victor W. Hwang is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Right to Start, a national, nonpartisan nonprofit organization seeking to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all through grassroots organizing and engagement with policymakers and media in 28 states.

Hwang was Vice President of Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation, the world’s leading philanthropy supporting entrepreneurs. He led initiatives that impacted over 200,000 entrepreneurs in 200 cities, including efforts in catalyzing capital formation, transforming economic development practices, launching a national policy roadmap, and breaking barriers for underserved entrepreneurs.

Hwang has been a serial entrepreneur, venture investor, and corporate lawyer, and has run several entrepreneur support organizations. He has advised philanthropies, governments, corporations, and organizations on economic growth, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Hwang has been a contributing columnist to Inc., Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Entrepreneur. His co-authored book, “The Rainforest,” was Book of the Year by ForeWord Reviews.

Hwang is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School.
