DETROIT, Mich. – Butzel is expanding its immigration practice with the addition of Christopher J. Ammori, a Senior Attorney based in the firm’s Detroit office.
He helps businesses navigate growth, compliance, and global talent mobility with a strategic and pragmatic approach. Ammori’s practice focuses on complex corporate immigration matters. He regularly advises foreign and domestic companies and individuals on the full range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions.
With experience spanning Am Law 200 and boutique firms in Metro Detroit, Ammori has advised closely held businesses and multinational companies on matters ranging from employment-based visa strategies to business transactions. His background enables him to tailor solutions that align with each client’s operational goals. Ammori represents clients in a wide range of nonimmigrant visa matters, including O-1 visas for individuals of extraordinary ability, E-2 treaty investors, L-1 intra-company transferees, H-1B specialty occupation workers, TN visas, and E-3 visas. He also represents clients in permanent residency matters such as EB-1, permanent labor certification (PERM), and EB-5 immigrant investor visas.
Prior to joining Butzel, Ammori was the founder and Managing Attorney of a Michigan firm offering legal services in the areas of Employment Immigration, Immigration and Naturalization, and Business Transactions.
Ammori earned a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and a B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Wayne State University. During law school, he served as an intern to the Honorable David A. Hathaway at the Wayne County Circuit Court. He also served as Treasurer and Student Attorney for the Free Legal Aid Clinic at Wayne State University Law School, representing low-income clients in family and elder law matters.
A frequent speaker on immigration and corporate planning, Ammori is an active member of the Chaldean American Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
