Celebrate African American Achievements in the Automotive and Mobility Industry, Feb. 25

February 22, 2023

Despite obstacles faced through racism and segregation, African Americans have had tremendous impact on the automotive and mobility field. To preserve and widely share this history, the Automotive Hall of Fame (AHF) launched an in-person and online multi-stage project featuring African American accomplishments and contributions to the automotive industry in February 2022.

The initiative has highlighted African Americans’ inventions, designs, engineering innovations, dealership ownership, new leadership methods, and more that changed their respective fields with the goal of increasing the recognition of this historically underrepresented group and promoting a richer and more diverse narrative of the history of the field.

This Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 1 p.m., AHF will continue the project with the launch of its newest exhibit, ACHIEVEMENT. Sarah Cook, President of the Automotive Hall of Fame, and Bob Tate, automotive historian and researcher, will present the work featured in the exhibit. Following the presentation, attendees will be able to enjoy soft drinks and snacks and explore the exhibit with the Hall’s experts.

The museum will be open at no cost from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.
