The Detroit Regional Chamber is welcoming three new institutional leaders who will help shape the future of talent development and postsecondary attainment in Southeast Michigan.
As key collaborators in the Chamber’s education and talent initiatives and as active partners of Detroit Drives Degrees, Eastern Michigan University, Henry Ford College, and Macomb Community College, these institutions play an essential role in expanding educational opportunity, increasing student success, and strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline.
The Chamber congratulates Brendan Kelly, who became the 24th president of Eastern Michigan University on April 1, as well as David M. Knezek Jr., the seventh president of Henry Ford College, and Lori M. Gonko, the seventh president of Macomb Community College, both of whom assumed their presidencies on July 1.
These institutions are longstanding partners in advancing the Chamber’s TalentED priorities and share a commitment to increasing postsecondary attainment, closing equity gaps, and creating stronger pathways from education to career. The Chamber looks forward to working with Presidents Kelly, Knezek, and Gonko as they lead their institutions and help drive continued progress for students, employers, and communities across the Detroit Region.
