Clark Hill Public Strategies, LLC (CHPS), the government affairs affiliate of international law firm Clark Hill PLC, has announced that veteran lobbyist Brad Williams has joined the organization. Williams who was most recently Vice President of Political Affairs for the Detroit Regional Chamber, leading a bipartisan advocacy team at Michigan’s largest business advocacy organization, joins CHPS colleagues in Washington, D.C. and in Lansing, Michigan, who work with high-level clients to promote their interests at the state and federal levels.

“As one of the top government affairs professionals in Michigan, and a recognized leader among business groups nationally, Brad is the ideal choice to expand our bipartisan team,” said Del Chenault, CHPS Principal. “His deep relationships and broad experience helping businesses and organizations navigate government adds strong value for our clients. Brad’s addition to the Clark Hill Public Strategies team continues our growth trend as one of the strongest lobbying firms in Michigan and beyond.”

Williams’ tenure at the Detroit Regional Chamber included successful advocacy efforts surrounding the Gordie Howe International Bridge, resolution of Detroit’s municipal bankruptcy, creation of the Detroit Public Schools Community District, and development of historic development incentives. He served as the voice of business for ballot efforts on behalf of public transit, road funding, and business tax reform.

Prior to his work at the Chamber, Williams served as a staff member in the Michigan Legislature and Michigan Department of Transportation. In 2018, he took temporary leave from the Chamber and served as a senior advisor to then-Governor-Elect Gretchen Whitmer during her transition.

A graduate of Calvin College, he has been named to Crain’s Detroit Business “50 Names to Know in Lobbying,” among other recognitions.

“Clark Hill Public Strategies already has an outstanding team, so I look forward to collaborating with them. Together, we will help clients navigate government in a fast-changing policy environment,” Williams said. “There will be value for my clients in CHPS’ relationship and connectivity with Clark Hill, a law firm I’ve long known and respected, with a strong presence across the U.S. The organization’s influence, coupled with my experience representing business in government, will help support and generate positive results for our clients.”
