A vital component for high-tech-driven economic development is a new model of cooperation between Ann Arbor and Detroit.

That’s according to Richard Florida, founder of Creative Class Group, who was commissioned by the Detroit Regional Chamber and the University of Michigan to study the establishment of an innovation corridor to link the two cities’ burgeoning startup ecosystems.

At the Detroit Policy Conference on Thursday, innovation industry experts gathered to discuss how to drive the innovation economy in Detroit and how to make the state of Michigan a player in the global innovation landscape.
