Detroit-Windsor-based campaigns have earned international HERMES creative awards. The campaigns developed include: the Children’s Foundation (microsite), Great Lakes Pot Pies (packaging), Open Sky Group (tradeshow booth) and Wolfhead Distillery’s (labels), created by Douglas Marketing Group (DMG).
More than just industry recognition, these awards are a testament to the vital role that local and regional businesses play in strengthening our communities. From supporting youth to fostering economic growth, these initiatives have created a lasting, meaningful impact across the region.
Recognition includes two Platinum awards, one Gold award and one Honorable Mention. Platinum is the highest award given, honoring entries that demonstrate exceptional creativity, quality and innovation.
The Michigan Central Station Children’s Endowment Initiative microsite was recognized with a Platinum HERMES award. DMG collaborated with the Children’s Foundation to create a dedicated microsite that supported the initiative across multiple touchpoints, driving traffic from news outlets, hosting charity applications, announcing selected organizations and ultimately encouraging donations for youth and community revitalization as part of the historic landmark’s restoration.
The second Platinum award recognized a craft distillery for its Cream Liquor labels. Wolfhead has worked with DMG since its opening in 2016, and this marks the third award the two have celebrated together. Their success is a testament to how local businesses can elevate their brands through thoughtful design and storytelling, both essential for standing out in broader markets while remaining rooted in the community. Wolfhead products are available across Michigan.
“Working with locally owned businesses showcases the strength of product development and communications,” said Kay Douglas, President of DMG. A strong example of this is Great Lakes Pot Pies, a family-owned Michigan business with a growing national footprint, which received a Gold award for its bold brand refresh and packaging designs for its Pot Pies and Pie Chips.
Douglas continued, “We celebrate this HERMES recognition with our clients. Developing internationally award-winning initiatives and campaigns that tell the story of world-class organizations requires an exacting blend of innovation, technology and forward-thinking. DMG is proud to be part of the team that works with clients to reach their audience and meet their goals with award-winning approaches.”
