On April 16, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s TalentEd and MichAuto teams hosted a Career Development Talent Summit at Michigan Central. This event convened postsecondary career development professionals from across the Detroit Region to explore innovative strategies for talent development. Amber Greenway Neher, Director of Student Success and Postsecondary Partnerships for Detroit Drives Degrees, and Christi Taylor, Senior Director of Employer Engagement for the Chamber’s TalentEd team, engaged attendees in discussions on the Chamber’s career and talent initiatives. Additionally, Drew Coleman, Senior Director at MichAuto, highlighted the organization’s efforts to advance high-tech talent and bolster Michigan’s talent pipeline.
The summit also featured a distinguished panel of speakers from Cooper Standard, Corewell Health, Emerge Consulting, Turner Construction Company, and Urban Alliance. These panelists shared insights into their talent acquisition strategies, provided perspectives on the evolving job market, and offered valuable advice for new graduates navigating their job search. The day concluded with interactive lightning sessions, where participants collaborated to provide feedback on enhancing the Chamber’s support for campus Career Development offices, strengthening employer partnerships, and addressing gaps in the student career search process.
