In October 2024, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s TalentEd team and Detroit Promise hosted DTE Day, an open house that connected Detroit Promise students with DTE recruiters to learn about the company, its work, and how they can start their career with the company. Twenty-nine students participated and learned about:
- DTE’s Student Co-op opportunities in fields like data analytics, data security, and engineering, which offers students challenging assignments, competitive pay, and the chance to work with leaders in their field.
- DTE’s Summer Student program, which provides full-time, temporary employment opportunities for college undergraduates and high school seniors preparing to enter college in the fall.
DTE Day provided significant benefits to both students and DTE. Students gained valuable experiences and knowledge, while DTE accessed a diverse and talented group of students from the Detroit Promise. This event also strengthened DTE’s connections with the Chamber and the educational community and enhanced its recruitment efforts through targeted events and strategic partnerships.
The Chamber encourages companies to collaborate with its TalentEd team to create similar pathways. Investing in the next generation allows businesses to enhance their workforce while also contributing to the prosperity of the entire Detroit Region, helping shape the future of Region’s talent landscape.
