Franco Chief Executive Officer Tina Kozak was named the Agency Leader recipient of the inaugural Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Women of Impact Awards, earning national recognition for her leadership at Franco and contributions to the communications profession.

The awards celebrate women whose leadership, innovation and influence are strengthening organizations, advancing the profession and creating opportunities for others. Recipients represent a wide range of career stages and practice areas, reflecting the breadth of leadership across the communications profession.

Throughout her career at Franco, Kozak has helped guide the agency through periods of growth and industry change while building on its more than 60-year history in Detroit. Under her leadership, Franco has continued to evolve its integrated communications approach while remaining committed to its clients, team and the southeast Michigan community.

“The biggest takeaway wasn’t the trophy – it was the forced pause to reflect on why I do this work,” said Kozak. “Spending the day with so many remarkable women from across the country was inspiring in its own right, but it also reminded me how much of my foundation I share with the colleagues, friends and mentors who’ve shaped my path along the way. I’m grateful every single day.”

Kozak is the first woman and only the third chief executive officer in Franco’s history. In 2024, she became majority owner, establishing Franco as a WBENC-certified Women’s Business Enterprise. Beyond Franco, Kozak supports Detroit-based organizations through her involvement with Life Remodeled and Michigan Women Forward, where she serves as a business coach and mentor to women entrepreneurs.

“These remarkable professionals demonstrate that leadership is measured not only by what we achieve, but by the people we inspire, mentor and empower,” said PRSA Chair Heide Harrell, MA, APR. “Their vision, integrity and commitment to excellence are creating meaningful change, strengthening our profession and opening doors for the next generation of communications leaders.”
