Michigan business owners and groups said the state Legislature’s late Thursday overhaul of tipped minimum wage increases and paid sick time mandates is far from perfect — but appeared to offer a solid compromise given previously approved policies that had been set to take effect Friday.

“While not representative of the entire business community’s wish list, the legislature’s actions will make employer compliance with the new acts much more bearable,” the Detroit Regional Chamber said in a statement, calling the final result a “necessary compromise” between businesses and other stakeholders.
