International Women’s Day 2022

Global activism for women’s equality has gained national recognition due to movements like #MeToo and #TimesUp, but progress cannot stop.

The Detroit Regional Chamber hosted its fourth annual International Women’s Day lunch on Tuesday, March 8. The event featured an uplifting and empowering program that embodied the 2022 theme of #BreakTheBias. During this event, leading executives spoke to business leaders about how they can engage in inclusive practices to foster diversity of thought and encourage all employees to have a voice.

Donate And Learn More About This Year’s Charity Partner

The Chamber’s annual International Women’s Day event supports a partner organization that is improving the lives of women and girls around the world. This year’s beneficiary is Women of Banglatown.

Founded in 2014, Women of Banglatown (WOB) is a community arts organization that provides a supportive, culturally-sensitive space for arts and well-being programming for immigrant and first-generation girls and young women from the Banglatown neighborhood of Detroit and Hamtramck. Its programming includes weekly workshops led by local women artists, WOB members, trauma-informed facilitators, and entrepreneurs. Vaccine Policy

All attendees of the International Women’s Day lunch are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after receiving the second shot of a two-dose vaccine, or two weeks after the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Chamber is using CLEAR Health Pass to assist with verifying vaccination status. Individuals must complete their CLEAR Health Pass by Friday, March 4.
