2026 General Election: Know Before You Vote

Election risks are business risks.

Free and fair elections are critical for employers because they provide stability through peaceful transitions of power and reinforce the rule of law that is essential to a pro-growth climate.

This comprehensive guide to the November 2026 election is intended to raise awareness about what’s at stake for the business community and the Detroit Region while empowering employees to play a role in our democracy.

How Election Risk Undermines Business

  • Market Volatility: Uncertainty around elections can increase volatility and stifle business investment and planning.
  • Operational Disruption: Civil unrest and law enforcement actions can interrupt day-to-day activities.
  • Reputational Harm: Election disruption erodes confidence in U.S. institutions.
