Michigan’s Property Tax Appeal Deadline Extended Another Month Amid COVID-19June 15, 2020
Gov. Whitmer signed House Bill 5766 into law. This important update to Michigan’s Property Tax Appeal deadline for commercial industrial taxpayers is now extended one more month to Aug. 31. Previously, EO 2020-87 extended this deadline to July 31. The Bill was unanimously approved by the Michigan House and Senate before heading to the governor.
The Chamber’s Government Relations team has been advocating in Lansing for both the Executive Order and this new law, in collaboration with several stakeholders who contributed to making this happen. As this work continues, the Chamber will remain in close contact with key policymakers to ensure needed reforms and extensions like this become law.
