NeighborHUB DRC and MEDC

NeighborHUB is a collaborative effort between the Detroit Regional Chamber and Michigan Economic Development Corporation designed to empower residents to affect change in their communities.

Together, they provide grants to small businesses throughout Detroit, Highland Park, and Hamtramck.

The program recognizes the need to support small businesses as important foundations for communities, especially in traditionally underinvested small business corridors.

Applications for 2026 grant funding are closed. Please check back for updates when 2027 Cohort 9 applications open.

Now entering its eighth year of funding neighborhood-focused projects in 2026, NeighborHUB expanded its impact by providing grants and additional consulting and support services to small businesses to ensure that projects are successful and sustainable. Since 2025, the program has awarded 107 grants totaling over $2.55 million to small businesses that have created and enhanced spaces designed to foster collaboration, change, and positively impact their neighborhoods.

The core belief behind the NeighborHUB program is that the residents and stakeholders of Detroit know better than anyone else what their community needs. The program lets those closest to the community to dictate and design projects and spaces that directly address those needs and make the most significant impact.
