Attorney Nicholas W. Siewert recently joined the Transportation Law Practice Group of Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest full-service law firms.

A member of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office, Siewert focuses his practice on insurance-related work involving No-Fault law and motor vehicle litigation, as well as on coverage disputes, entitlement issues and catastrophic injuries. He also represents ride sharing companies directly, and he serves as defense panel counsel for the policyholders of some of the nation’s largest insurance providers.

In addition to his transportation law practice, Siewert has particular expertise handling construction law claims involving fire and water damage, including arson and staged water losses. He has also handled assignments pertaining to business law, premises liability, labor and employment law, contract law and commercial litigation.

Siewert received his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2014, and he received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 2008.

Hagelthorn joins Plunkett Cooney’s Motor Vehicle Law Practice

Former in-house counsel for three of nation’s largest insurance companies, Hagelthorn has extensive experience in all areas of the Michigan No-Fault Act, including the defense of third-party negligence and uninsured and underinsured claims, as well as defending first-party actions involving personal injury protection benefits and property protection benefits.

Hagelthorn is a 2008 graduate of Ave Maria School of Law. Admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Michigan, he is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Alliance Defense Fund. He earned his undergraduate degree in 2005 from Eastern Michigan University.

Fracassi joins Plunkett Cooney’s Transportation Law Practice Group

Roderick Fracassi, a 17-year veteran of the trucking and logistics industries, recently joined Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, as a senior attorney in its Transportation Law Practice Group.

Fracassi, a member of the firm’s Detroit office, formerly served as chief counsel and assistant secretary of a $3.8 billion, multinational, less-than-truckload division of an American transportation and logistics company. He will focus his practice primarily on servicing the transactional and regulatory needs of the firm’s clients.

Fracassi is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Transportation Lawyer’s Association and the American Trucking Association. In 1994, he simultaneously received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and his master’s degree from Wayne State University.
