Angelique Power is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Skillman Foundation, a charitable foundation that works with grassroots and grass tops advocates to transform the education system. The Foundation is rooted in values of fairness, belonging, and bridge-building in a purple state and grants approximately $25 million to upgrade K-12 education for students in Detroit and across Michigan.
Prior to The Skillman Foundation, Power was President of the Field Foundation, a Program Director at the Joyce Foundation, and a Senior Executive at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
Power is a board member of BasBlue, Council of Michigan Foundations, Culture Source, Detroit Future City, Detroit Public Theatre, The Parade Company, United States Artists, and serves on the Detroit Mayor’s Workforce Development Board.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Power also earned a Master of Fine Arts and an Honorary Doctorate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
