The Detroit Regional Chamber and Detroit Drives Degrees are now accepting applications for the third cohort of the Detroit Regional Postsecondary Student Advisory Fellowship (PSAF). This year-long paid program empowers postsecondary students by placing their voices at the center of Detroit Drives Degrees’ decision-making process. The fellowship is designed for students passionate about shaping education, workforce access, and policy in the Detroit Region.
This year, the fellowship is broadening its scope to include the mobility, emerging technology, and health care sectors, reflecting the Region’s dynamic economic landscape. Through a partnership with MichAuto and other industry leaders, fellows will explore a wider array of career pathways and policy issues that are defining Detroit’s future. The third cohort will also have an enhanced focus on personal and professional growth. Fellows will learn to build a strong LinkedIn presence, develop reflective professional portfolios, and engage in meaningful conversations about their long-term career goals and leadership potential.
Fellows will also receive exclusive access to professional development and networking opportunities, connecting them with peers and leaders in education, business, and industry. These opportunities will include a mix of virtual and in-person experiences, such as networking events, roundtable discussions, and tours of campuses and employer sites, all hosted or sponsored by the Chamber and its member organizations.
By the end of the program, Fellows will be more confident in navigating complex decision-making processes in education and business. They will have built a diverse professional network, gained a deeper understanding of key issues in the regional postsecondary and workforce landscape, and developed the skills to advocate for access, equity, and inclusion in any setting.
