Ashley Mathews is the Public Policy and Business Advocacy Specialist at the Detroit Regional Chamber, where she represents the Chamber’s interests at the local, state, and federal levels. In her role, she supports the Chamber’s lobbying efforts, manages member advocacy committees, and coordinates strategic engagement with elected officials and stakeholders. Mathews also oversees logistics for public policy events, facilitates PAC administration, and contributes to the Chamber’s communications through e-newsletters, blogs, and policy research.
Before joining the Chamber in 2025, Mathews was a legislative and communications intern in Washington, D.C., for then-Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI 7). There, she supported constituent services, conducted policy analysis, and conducted legislative research focused on Michigan-based issues.
Mathews earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College, majoring in Social Relations and Policy with a minor in Science, Technology, and Environmental Public Policy.
