Duncan Aldred has been Senior Vice President and President of GM North America. He oversees GM’s entire North American operations, leading sales, service, and marketing across the U.S, Canada, and Mexico. He manages the organization’s diverse automotive and connected-services portfolio, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Buick, OnStar, ACDelco, GM Genuine Parts, and GM Energy.
Prior to his current role, Duncan was the Vice President of Commercial Growth Strategies and Operations, where he focused on improving both the fleet and retail customer experience at every stage of the journey, including purchasing, ownership, and after-sales.
Ducan held the position of Global Vice President of Buick and GMC. Under his leadership, Buick was strategically repositioned as a premium SUV brand, while GMC underwent transformational growth, driven by the critical full-size truck lineup and the rapid expansion of the Denali and AT4 sub-brands.
Duncan began his career at Vauxhall Motors as a Student Intern and eventually went on to hold several senior leadership roles at Vauxhall Motors and Opel.
Duncan also currently serves as the Chair of Alliance for Automotive Innovation.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom.
