Jeff Donofrio is President and Chief Executive Officer of Business Leaders For Michigan, helping shape policy outcomes that have strengthened Michigan’s competitiveness, reformed education, expanded talent pathways, and improved the state’s business climate. He also guided the development of Michigan in a New Era, the organization’s blueprint for long-term prosperity.
Donofrio’s career has focused on the intersection of economic growth and public policy, serving as a senior leader in both business and government, including multiple governors and members of Congress. He was a Ford Motor Company executive and served as Director of the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, where he helped create Michigan Reconnect.
Donofrio is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Launch Michigan, as well as Chair of the Michigan Workforce Development Board. He also serves on the boards of the Growing Michigan Together Council, Michigan Workforce Development Board, Detroit Economic Club, the Michigan Educational Excellence Foundation, Detroit Mayor’s Workforce Development Board, and the University of Michigan Innovation Partnerships National Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Workforce, Economic Development, and Small Business Committee within Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield’s transition team.
Donofrio earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Georgetown University.
