Nick Khouri

Former Treasurer, State of Michigan; Former Chief, Economic Development, City of Detroit

Nick Khouri spent over 30 years working at the intersection of finance and public policy. Prior to his retirement, Khouri held positions as senior vice president of DTE Energy, the State of Michigan’s 46th treasurer, chief economist of the Senate Fiscal Agency, and analyst at the U.S. Congressional Budget Office. For a short time, he also worked on economic development for the City of Detroit under Mayor Mike Duggan.

Currently, Khouri serves on various boards. He chairs the Skillman Foundation’s Investment Committee, is a trustee of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, and is vice chair of its Investment Committee. He also chairs Michigan Future Inc. and the Finance Committee of the Citizens Research Council and serves on the board of tier-one auto supplier Kem Krest.

Khouri earned degrees in Economics from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.
